Just placed the order for a colt government model 5inch stainless 1911.

I already own a kimber custom 2 and I fell in love with the 1911 design and thought it was time to get another and thought I might aswell have a colt in the collection so I picked her up for $680.

I hear this and that about the trigger pull/safety..ect..ect and the gun wont be in till the end of next week so I cannot tell for myself how the trigger pull is but what is a good replacement spring or trigger assembly for the colt?

Thanks

You'll most likely have no need to replace the trigger.

Def hope so....Its going to be pretty much a range only gun

Was just in the market for another 1911 that was around the $700 price range and seen the colt and figured might aswell have a colt in there

Agreed, Colt no longer uses the plastic trigger that everyone but ME hated ( send me your Nylon triggers!!! ) they have switched to a NICE aluminum trigger with no goofy overtravel screw...they factory pull is a very nice five to five and half pounds. ( at least on mine )

Enjoy the new Pony....

and, yes, we expect pics!

All the advice is greatly appreciate my friends!

Here is a snap shot of it on there website

1991A1, so all in all do you think that is a decent price for the quality and name.

My kimber has convereted me over to the 1911 side  I love them to death now...

I will most def post some pics, I actually have pictures of my rifles and other guns that I have taken on my camera phone but the quality is garbage and I need to buy a digit but dont know what the best bang for the buck is.

Those stock garbage sights had to go, since then I put on some truglo tfo's

I have not felt the need to change the trigger or do any work to the last 5 new Colts I have bought. All came with good triggers right out of the box.

Only the Defender came with the nylon trigger and truth be told I can't tell the damn difference. That one IS a bit heavier in pull weight but nice and crisp and  it is a CCW weapon so I consider that to be fine.

Go from a new Colt to a USGI and it's enough to make you wonder if there is a problem with the gun.
