Will the wilson 47d fit a fullsize 5" 1911 with a magwell? If not witch one do I need? Thanks

Yes, it will fit.  Extended basepads may help.

so i have to get an extendend base plate I thought the 47d was the one with the plastic pad or do i need a different part number. sorry for the dumb questions but i am new to the wilson line up. I have had chip mccormicks in the past. Any help is appreciated

A standard Wilson 47D has a .350" base pad, which is more than adequate for a gun equipped with a Wilson, Ed Brown, Smith and Alexander, Entreprise, or similar magwell.   They also make a much larger .625" basepad, but it's completely unneccessary.   I've used both, and either will work fine.  If you bought regular 47Ds, then you have a .350" pad and don't need to buy any others.

I've also used the low profile steel and plastic pads.  They sit a little lower than flush with a S&A magwell, but they have never failed to seat for me.

The 47D comes with the standard .350 plastic base pad that will work with most magwells.



You may may find the .625 base pads work a little more positively, but they do add bulk.
