Hmmm, Kimber newbie and 55 posts.  I'll forgive you for your oversight, but you're supposed to post pics!

Welcome to the club.  It's nice you upgraded from a Llama to a Kimber.

<--- first Kimber.

Welcome to the club!
Be careful of the 1911 disease. Your wallet & bank account won't stand a chance.
Read sig below. It's really          true, ask me how I know.

The Kimber Custom II is the best "bang" for the buck in a 1911.  You can spend more money but you don't get much more except flashier cosmetics in most cases. You have to spend a lot more money to get a better gun.

Congrats!!

Usually 7 - 10 yards.  Sometimes out to 25 yards just for fun.

The bulk I do is from 7 - 15 yards.  I always get a little 25 yard stuff in, and sometimes 50, 75 or even 100 just for kicks and to challenge accuracy.  Longer distances are not indicative of what happens in real life, but it does help reinforce the fundamentals of accurate shooting.

Get plenty of mags (i prefer Chip McCormick Power-Mags) and trigger time and you'll be golden.
1911's are a drug you can't get enough of!

My recent addition to the family is a stainless Colt (series 80) i traded for a Kimber Classic stainless.
I miss the series 70 simplicity from the Kimber. . .
