Finally got someone to hold the camera steady for me. (Thanks CodyCoyote)

It was a fun range day to say the least.

Seriously.... Put this to bed. Many of us have known about this for years and all it's gonna do is fuck things up with another ATF "interpretation" as soon as some/enough idiot(s) try it out.

I've known about it for years, too. Finally got it on vid, though. If I've known about it, and you've known about it for years, I'm sure the ATF has, too, and one more video of it isn't going to change things.

Do the math, man...

How long had rails been manufactured on Glocks, etc? YEARS. Suddenly the ATF throws out an interpretation on VFGs & pistols. New railed 1911s? bumping? Picking up what I am putting down, here?

Not to mention you have broadcasted for all who have an agenda, how such a trigger makes for unsafe/uncontrolled use.

Advertising the jackass antics is really doing us more harm than help, I assure you... even if you get a few "DAYUMMMM!!!! "  approval posts.

That use was both safe and controlled. However it wasn't intended to group well at 100 yards.

I feel assured. Really.

Whenever you're done trolling here, you're welcome to stay out of this thread if you have nothing beneficial to add. I have enough people who tell me what I can and can't do. You however, aren't one of them.

I've bumped a few 1911's and a really light triggered Astra Star 9mm. It was okay, a friend got it on tape as well but I don't have a copy.

I bumped the Colt AR this weekend for my brother in law who lives in CA. He was visiting and now he wants an AR. He was dismayed when I explained he needed to live in Free America before he could own such evil devices. He was somewhat liberal when I first met him. Sis accused me of converting him to a Republican.

He now wants to move here so he can own and shoot a host of dangerous evil firearms.

Don't worry. ATF will be along to make a ruling that loose hand gripping action is making a machinegun and will publish such restrictions any minute. According to ATF, if it isn't covered or illegal already, it's a loophole and will banned in good time.

Shoot. I posess both a Glock and a VFG. I await the raid team.....

Look, the last thing I want to do is take the role of your/everybody's parent. It's one position I am not very effective at, nor is it one that I am not qualified for. A troll thread (started or responded) is a malicious post aimed at seting off everybody's emotions (starting a pissing match). This is the last thing I am trying to do. First of all I am not trying to judge your behavior... neither the bumping, nor the posting. I have bumped a 1911 myself and quite frankly I began a little R&D a few years ago with 1911s and this ability (PM me if interested... not exactly rocket science and late in the game but...) so that one could enjoy the "tactical advantage" in a controlled application. I knew that as soon as I or someone who picked up the torch suceeded, the 1911s days were numbered in its present mechanical figuration from a legal standpoint. I thought about posting my findings, as low tech as they were etc. but I thought the better of it for the same reasons I have issues with the video.

I don't wish you any ill-will whatsoever, and I am not trying to strong arm you with my holier than thou judgement. I am/was trying to get you to think about this potential powder keg, and the rammifications thereof once a few jackasses perform this in conditions and places in which you would never condone yourself. I will be the first to attack my postion as being elitist (not sharing the joy and info) but sometimes being selectively selfish is actually a little more altruistic for everybody else. The smart folk with ingenuity can figure the principle out themselves. The dumb are not armed with the knowledge, we are better off.

You have already posted this so the "damage is done" in that respect (no I don't contend you opened Pandora's box by any stretch). You may not swallow the whole bottle of medicine that I just set down on the table, but if this sidn't give you some pause, if you still think this is nothing but trolling that says alot about your intellect and character. Although I don't know you nor much about you personally, I am inclined to believe that you are smart enough to pick up what i'm putting down (even if you don't endorse all that I have said).

Cool vid.

Did Elk-girl get to shoot?

Sidenote:  Several posts about rails and vertical foregrips, I'm just not sure how they relate to the 1911 in the video.

With all due respect to pulpsmack (and I mean that sincerely as I really do respect his opinions here), I think this is much teeth grinding over nothing.  Bump firing is nothing new, nor is there anything even remotely illegal about it.  The gun fires one shot for ever time the trigger is pulled and there is no external device that acts as a full auto sear.

Any semi can be bump fired if you set things up right.  Look at the AK series of rifles.  Any person can hook his finger through the trigger guard and push forward on the forend.  It sounds like full auto fire but is nothing more than really fast semi-automatic fire.  Now, there is a legal opinion by the BATFE that taking a shoe string and wrapping it to the bolt handle and connecting it to the trigger is something totally different.  That shoestring, when wrapped arpimd your thumb acts as a sear and that is full auto fire and is illegal.  The BATF knows about these different methods of toying with guns.  They have said that one is legal and the other is not.

So let npd233 have his fun.  Its a cool video.  It doesn't really accomplish anyhting but make a lot of noise, but that's his idea of fun and I'm not going to knock him for it.

puplsmack needs to STFU!!!!!!!!!

What a waste of time, you really must have no life if you feel the need to bitch about something like this.

First off, the ATF could give a shit about bumping a 1911.  They know that it has no practical use whatsoever and you could never hit the broadside of a barn.

Rails on glocks are not for vert grips stupid!!!!!!!!  They are for lights!

Have you ever tried to shoot a handgun with a vert grip??  It is useless.  (Unless it's an 18)

Go find another thread to bother.

I've met Npd at the Hun Farm, and I get along with him and have nothing against him.

I assume he's shooting into the pit at Buffalo Range?

Much ado about nothing I'd say :P  You wanna waste ammo doin that have at it hoss!  However, it's kind of funny I read this now because I *JUST* saw a champion (of some sort) shooter from Sig on the OLN on the show "Shooting Gallery" who was bump firing a 1911.  And that is on national TV... and it's some professional shooter doing it.

It's just for fun.  Geezus.

EDIT: And this guy was using some ridiculously custom 1911 too.
