Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Price check

I recently obtained a stripped 1911 frame. The serial number is 317XXX-C.

I believe this would be a Colt Commercial built in 1968. The guy at the local gun shop offered me $300 for it but I'm not interested in getting rid of it.  It struck me as a high offer.  Any ideas?
