I have a Kimber TLE/RL II and a Dan Wesson PT-CBOB. Winchester White Box 45ACP is $20/100  from Wally World. I can literally shoot every day at the range. As you can tell...shooting 45ACP is getting expensive for me. So which one do I go with?

Kimber - $252.95 from Midway USA /10 Round Mags are $23.45

Marvel Match - $346.59 from Midway USA/10 Round Mags are $39.61

Marvel Practical - $269.99 from Midway USA/10 Round Mags are $39.61

Wilson Combat - $308.99 from Midway USA/10 Round Mags are $39.95

Ciener Kit - $199 direct from Ciener/15 Round Mags are $35

chances are that they are all made by the same company

I did pay a little more and got a Kimber set on ebay for my Kimber custom II

just shot it today and the only thing I would say is that mine like mini mags much more than cheap 22lr

I'm planning on getting the Kimber for my Kimber.  Figured I'd stay with the same company because of the quality. NO need for me to change.  I got a Kimber 45 for its quality, might as well stay with a kimber. (I dont have anything against the other brands)

I had no idea that the Ciener had 15 rd mags.  That makes it tempting.
However, for training purposes, get the Kimber with 3 mags.

My Wilson upper works great with the full size Kimber, but will not fit on my Compact "Ultra Shadow LE II"

BTW- does anybody know who makes the Kimber and the Wilson uppers?  My Wilson looks similar to the Kimber pictured.

Marvel conversions are superbly accurate, and they make a great platform to use with a .22 can.

They use Colt Ace mags, so you aren't stuck buying $40 Marvel mags. I don't know if the Kimber uses the same mags.

OK. Are you being sarcastic or serious? I know that the Ciener guy has a reputation for being a dickhead, but is his conversion kit good?

Oh, BTW the Ciener kit is $179.17 from Brownells

Personal feelings aside I like the Ciener product both for the AR and the 1911. Charles the Gunsmith.

I had a Ceiner and didn't like it.  The ammo I had to use to make it cycle correctly cost me as much as it would to just reload my 45ACP.  My recommendation is to buy a Ruger, Browning, or S&W 22 pistol.

What is the purpose of use?  I personally do not thing you can gain anything by using a conversion on a 1911 versus a reliable pistol that was built for it by design.  Part of training for self defense is training with the ammo you will use when you defend yourself.  If you don't do that much, you might as well be training with a revolver instead.  It would do you as much good.

Be aware that if you have problems with the Ceiner units, you're going to be screwed.  He probably has the worst after sales service I have ever seen.

Already have a Ruger 22/45

Main purpose would be primarily for very high volume shooting, like I said I can literally shoot every day and the cost of 45ACP ammo(even reloading my own) would cost more than .22LR.

You can still practice shooting from the draw using the same holster you would noramlly use also malfunction drills should still be the same.

Definitely sarcastic.  If his 1911 kits are anything like his Glock kits, they suck hairy goat balls.  My Glock kit never emptied a 10rd mag in its life without jamming.  My Ceiner AR15 kit is much better, but I would guess that the 1911 is more like the Glock kit.  Also, as said, if you have trouble with it, you're SOL.

I have a Kimber conversion kit and it's extremely accurate.  It doesn't like weak ammo but it functions flawlessly with MiniMags and Velocitors.

Marvel.  Hands down.  The Marvel is the one all the others claim to be "as good as".   If you're not shooting BE just get the Marvel practical.

The Kimber kit is the Ceiner kit with a fancier name engraved on the slide.

Either of the Marvel kits is the one to get.
