Years ago I had a Marvel Slide but sold it because it wasn't threaded for a suppressor.  I very rarely shoot 22LR unsuppressed anymore and like to shoot quietly in my back yard.

So now I have an itch for another 22LR 1911 to shoot suppressed. I want to shoot with iron sights, but it's OK if it can also take a RDS as well.

A slide conversion is preferred, but a whole gun is OK. I'd prefer short barrel length to keep it as reasonable length as possible with the can on. (I have a few Tisas Commanders in 9mm and a Colt CCO in 45ACP.)

I did some searching but I'm not finding any recent threads representing the current market.

So what's out there that's reliable?

I just got a Ruger 22/45 MKIV when Palmetto had them on sale for $300. Pretty hard to beat a complete gun for what you may be spending on a conversion kit. We had it at the range shootung standard and sub velocity ammo. Both sounded great through my DA Mask. I am currently filing the hammer hook to make it a more respectable trigger pull. Reset is long but other than that it is not terrible in stock form.

You can certainly buy something like the Advantage Arms conversion kit, but they're more expensive than a Sig/GSG/ATI 1911/22lr and you don't have to swap slides back and forth.

I’d just get a threaded Marvel slide and barrel.  The one I had was dependable and very accurate.

Never ask a man if he is from Virginia. If he is, he'll tell you. If he isn't, you don't want to embarrass him.

Yeah, I have an older 22/45 that unfortunately does not have a threaded barrel and can't be threaded because it's a pencil barrel. It sure does feel like a 1911 in the hand though.

I've been thinking for a while about the short 3" barreled 22/45 that Silencer Shop has. I think that one could actually be drawn from a holster with my Warlock II suppressor attached. That's a plus for concealed carry pistol drills.
