I recently read an American Rifleman "Dope Bag" piece on some new 1911 magazine that was supposed to improve JHP feeding with stock mil spec 1911s. But I lost the article, and don't remember the brand . . .

Anyone able to help out?

Isn't that what every new magazine manufacturer claims?

wilson 47d's are the best 1911 mags out there.
just behind them, IMO, are the chip mcormicks.

The Dope Bag review supported the claim, IIRC a stock Norinco with JHP feeding problems worked well with a varity of JHPs when using the new magazine.

My 1911 magazine journey led to the conclusion that the best mags are the ones that work in your 1911.  47Ds and even tripp mags didn't do it in my Colt.  Eventually I discovered my Colt likes metalform mags with rounded followers best.  7rd.

Who knew!?

general consensus is that the Tripp mags are the best on the market now...just ordered a couple today.

I now have about 75 Wilson 47Ds. I have NEVER had a problem with them in any of my 1911s. I don't mean almost never, I mean NEVER and I shoot at least 25,000 rounds through my 1911s each year.
