Hey all,
Just got back from the range and put another 200 through my Nighthawk.  Lately, I've been shooting WWB, mainly because it's a good buy, but they were out of it, so I went to the local shop and picked up some Blazer.  Now, is WWB loaded light, or is Blazer loaded hot?  'Cause, DAMN the Blazer was significantly hotter with a LOT more muzzle flash.

It has always been my experience that Blazer is loaded on the warm side, along with Magtech and Fiocchi.

Aluminum cased Blazer is definitely a "full" load. I don't know that I would call it "hot" but my guess is that it runs a bit hotter than the Winchester or Federal Am. Eagle, etc. The brass cased Blazer does not seem quite as hot to me. I have never bothered chronographing any of this stuff...only JHP loads...so I have no figures to back up my impressions.

I concur,  Blazer always seems hotter than wwb.  I don't mind Blazer at all,  and Wal Mart has Blazer Brass almost as cheap as WWB.

I shot magtech from my carbine on sunday and it seemed week compared to wwb.  FWIW.  But I shoot alot of WWB out of my .45 and I haven't shot alot else.  I shot 200 grain SWC from black hills and miwall and they both seemed lighter than wwb.

I started out using the aluminum case Blazer until Walmart started carrying the WWB, and I still go back to it when Walmart is out.  This is a subjective observation, but the WWB seems a lot dirtier then the Blazer.  Not dirty enough that I'd stop using it, but dirty enough to make me start keeping rags in my box to wipe some of the crap off before leaving the range.

I've heard rumors that some of Winchester's white box stuff is made in the Czech Republic. This was confirmed when I went to my local shop and the box (50 round box) said made in the Czech Republic on the back. The Made in the USA was missing from the box. Maybe they've outsourced to Sellier & Bellot.

Blazer comes out of my supermatch at about 860. Hot but no quality issues for me yet after about 4000rds.

It just bugs me. Winchester is supposed to be American!! I could almost understand when they got the 223 ammo from Israel, but the Czech Republic? And 45acp stuff no less??!!!
