Imbel did make those frames. SACS used to work them over and call them the Super Tuned Champion.

I am no expert, and my memory isn't worth shit these days, but from what I remember, at least during the mid 00's to 10's... The SA or that era, the slides and frames were all forged and finished at Imbel in Brazil (minus the once great custom shop). The N serial numbers were completely finished in Brazil and marked as so. The NM serial numbers were something like 51% complete in US, so no Imbel markings. The N guns during some years had 2 piece barrels, which weren't really liked by many. The NM guns generally seemed to be fit a little better, but the N's were still good. During that time frame, the NM guns were more desired because of fit and finish and the no Imbel markings. Generally it seemed that smiths using them as base guns didn't seem to care. The SA guns were well liked. |

The 586 is right there and ive been carrying it a lot. I got a jet loader for it and damn it's fast. |

It’s important to check for function on your mowing 1911. This Baer rode OWB for 5 hours while mowing today. It started clean, lubed, and fully loaded 7+1 with 230 grain HST’s in a Colt magazine. At the end of the day I fired off the magazine and had a FTF on the last round in the mag.    |

My Baer has 4700 from my friend and I, but he was the one who purchased it on GB from the original owner (a sheriff or deputy up north). This looks similar to 7k in my experience, but Baers are fit differently than my Springfields, so it's hard to say. The original owner did say he hardly shot it, but we all know how that goes with used guns. Attached File I have a Springfield with over 9k on it, but it's with Cahill getting tricked-out. My other 1911s have unknown round counts, except my Tisas 9mm Tanker. |

I spent three hours on one myself this morning. My “mowing gun” was a Smith 60-7. I’m thinking a tanker holster would work well on a ZTR. Next time I’ll carry the Stainless Gold Cup for reasons. |
