Anyone have any experience with, or knowledge of, the STI Lawman? www.stiguns.com/guns/LSA/LSA.html Thanks... |

I haven't shot one, but I've handled a couple. The fit and finish looked like any other 1911 of the price range. The standard two-tone finish looks VERY strange in person, even more so than the pictures. The brown is actually a sort of reddish hue (I wonder if it's not Moly Resin) which looks strange with the green frame. I have no idea if they'll do cutom colors. The descriptions all say "ramped & supported barrel" which is a bit different for a .45 1911. My understanding is that STI bought the rights to the design and name from a Texas 'smith. Here's a pre-STI version for $1300 Here's an STI version for $1263 |

STI bought Lonestar Arms two years ago. With the purchase they recieved all the machine tools and tons of inventory (single stack 1911s and parts). The Lonestar frames and slides were of very good quality, and everything STI makes is pretty good, so I imagine that these are good guns. |

Ive got an STI Edge its a double stack so the frame is completely different. I just wanted to chime about the quality of STI's product. I have been very happy with the fit and finnish, it shoots better than I am able to take advantage of. If I was in the market for an single stack I would look hard at what STI had to offer. I say get one and post a range report. |
Wow, did Stevie Wonder design the color scheme for these? Those are a couple of the most wretched looking "custom finishes" I've ever seen. |
I just saw an STI ad in the August issue of Guns & Ammo, p. 60. It says the Lawman is available in 3 finishes, one of which is all black. |
