Hi guys, Im having a problem getting the firing pin face plate off the slide so I can clean the extractor/firing pin area, I can move it about half way then it gets stuck.Im tempted to tap it with a dowel pin,but dont want to screw anything up..........Im thinking there might be a burr or a sharp edge in the key way thats keeping it from moving, any thought?

Tap it out...... it's supposed to be a snug fit.

As long as the firing pin is depressed below the firing pin stop, It should slide out.   Having the slide clamped down or in a padded vice is better than in your lap.

You could have some machine marks on the back of the firing pin stop catching the FP or it could be just tight, and a burr or crud is hanging up.

Tap it out...and the vice will really help with reassembly, when you have to get the extractor perfectly lined up with the FPS.
