I met a buddy at the range today, he wanted to try out my G19 and G43. Strangely enough, he did better with the 43 than the 19 or the 26 he rented. Pretty sure he's going to get a 43.

Where am I going with this?

I've been wanting a 1911 for a long time, so I came here and picked your brains a few months back. The old thread must have gone into the bit bucket. You guys pointed me toward the Range Officer. I rented one, and it was a great shooter. I finally saved up my pennies. While I was waiting for my buddy to show up, I asked the lady behind the counter if they had a 5" Range Officer in 9mm. Sure enough they did. Price was close to what I've been seeing on Armslist and Gunbroker, and I could buy it RFN... so I did.

One of the guys in the shop did a quick clean and oil for me while I did the paperwork. My buddy and I put ~50 rounds through it. It shoots like a dream. Not surprisingly, he did better with the 1911 than any of the Glocks. I'm a terrible photographer, so I stole Springfield's stock photo.

I'll say congrats.

Springfield still in the outhouse over the politics or i'm sure you'd be getting a lot more.

Solid guns for the money and I hear great cs if you ever need it.

Love it.  A 9mm 1911 is a very very fun gun to shoot and still very capable.  Politics aside, should be a very good gun for you.

One less caliber to have to stock.
