I almost bought one when I was looking at a CCO type gun.  I've only heard a few negative reviews on them, but overall they seem like really good guns for the money.  I went with a RO compact instead only because of the slide shape (read about some holster compatibility issues)....and then 6 months later I picked up a Sig/GSG 1911-22 conversion kit for ~$100 so I'm now making holsters for the Sig slides .  Kinda wished I had just gotten the C3 now, especially at the sig .mil/leo pricing.

I think you made a great trade. I own numerous Sig 1911's myself and work on more as they come into the shop. Almost always for enhancements, not repairs.
I own a C3 and love it. Smith & Alexander make a great Maxwell for the officer grip if you choose to add on. One bit of advice I will give on all sig 1911's, is change out the recoil spring soon as you can. To fire and cycle the largest range of loads, sig uses a 16lb spring factory. Not an issue as long as it's clean, but do some shooting and get some dirt on the ramp and you'll most likely experience some failure to return to full battery and have to smack the back of the slide until it's cleaned. I keep a drawer of various springs and have settled on the wilson 20lb spring for sig officer or commander sized 1911's. Solves the issue and no problem cycling lighter loads IME. Just a heads up. Enjoy your new fine firearm and happy shooting. P.S. due to small differences in the slide, sigs can be challenging to find a holster for, but they are out there href=http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo17/beroya101/image-18_kindlephoto-2930326_zpsndclfrbs.jpg]My C3 a bit dressed up[/url] |
