| Hey gents, I had my 1911 Cerakoted recently and since then the barrel bushing is tight as shit. So much so that it's impossible to get off without a bushing tool and even then it's really difficult. So I've been thinking of trying to lap it down a little to get a better fit. However, since I've never done any lapping I'm unsure of how to go about it. Any advice gents? |
| If the gun functions well do not mess with it at all. Using a wrench is no big deal. Another trick ( in some guns the barrel is a hair thicker in the bushing area than further back) is to hold the gun slightly out of battery and often the bushing will turn by hand. With time and wear it will loosen up, no need at all to accelerate the process |
