Has anyone tried the 1911 magazines presumably made and sold by Brownells?

Not me. I've had excellent results with Wilson 47D mags.

I have 4 9mm mags. They look to be identical to the magazines that came with my valor other than finish.

I also have 4 of their 9mm mags.  They work better than the ones that came with the gun (SA RO Operator).  Quite pleased with them.

The Brownells mags look just like these Metalforms to me.  These work great for me.  David

That is interesting. The last Brownells catalog I had showed Brownells mags that looked just like metal form followers. Those mags pictured in this link look like they have ACT mags followers to me.  David

Last year Midway had a limited run of Metalform mags that look exactly like the Brownells mags except for Brownells name of course!  Same stainless/black coating, same baseplate, same flat follower, same holes and even same made in U.S.A. stamping.

I think they started at twenty something and kept going down generally in price until I think they had them on sale for $10.99.  I ended up with about a dozen of them and have run them in four different 1911s and they have all worked great.  Never a hickup!

They were product # 868504 and Metalform # 45-246PX.  Currently show as "Not available-one time run" and listed at $24.99
