[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Slide finally back from polish/Ionbond

Finally got my Colt slide back from being polished and Ionbonded. Finish looks great, but now wish I hadn't had it polished. Rollmark is fairly shallow now, but I guess not that big of a deal. Not like I'm selling, ever.

Evolution Armory. Took almost 3 months, due to the Ionbond being done at a different location.

Also, did you previously have the frame finished? I thought all of the Wiley Clapp models were all blue.

Either way I like it a lot. It is like a series 70 version of the Combat Elite.

That looks great! My slide goes out for Magpul FDE Cerakote tomorrow. Won't look as nice as that does though, but I'm sure it is far cheaper too.

I did. Back when I first bought it, I sent it off to have the barrel flush cut/chamfered, slide stop pin, new S&A beavertail with 25lpi cuts in the palmswell, and had the lower end hard chromed.

The only spot where there is any wear at all is under the thumb safety. Love how hard the finish is.

When my Colt got refinished by SACS, I think the Armory Kote filled in the rollmarks a little. :(

The Ionbond is fairly thin. I'm certain that it's more that I had him polish the flats.
