Not looking for pocket sized like the Sig P938. Who makes a good Compact 9mm 1911?

The RIA CS is available in 9mm. It's an officers sized single stack.

The springfield EMP is fantastic, especially the four inch.

I have a citadel compact 9mm, works ok when it's really clean. Tends to stovepipe if I don't clean it before going to the range. But the trigger is really nice for a cheap 1911

They need to make an aluminum framed version.

Price point isn't too bad either.

Might have to see if I can find any to get my hands on at any of the LGS's. I've handled the Springfield's, and they seem pretty nice also.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I'll take two. One in 9mm and one in .45. Shave a few ounces off the RIA CS in 45 I carry now.
Here's a size comparison with a glock 23 and a CZ 75 compact clone.

Dan Wesson ECO 9mm or VBOB 9mm would be my choice

I have a Springfield RO compact, for the price it's hard to go to wrong with them.

I'm really partial to my Colt New Agent 9mm.  I've had it for several years and I really like it.  Runs smooth and is surprisingly accurate.

Here's and older picture just after I got some Spressor ivory grips:
