Traded for one of these. Not sure what I was thinking.

Can't get used to the "trench sights."

Can I cut the slide for some Novaks?

I know there are some floating around with Novak cuts, but I think those are factory guns, and I'm not sure if they have the "trench."

It's been done. I would choose a highly reputable and competent gunsmith to do so. It looks pretty cool afterwards with the continuous trench.

Most people seem to report shooting low with the trench sights initially,  I had the same experience.  A little range time corrected that effect.  Having said that, I had my "trench" welded up and a set of Colt fixed sights added.
I am able to shoot tighter groups now; however, the groups with the trench were plenty good for what the pistol was intended for.     JD
