I just bought a Sig Cary Nitron. Does anyone here have one? If so what has been your experience with it?

Nobody? I guess I will post some photos when I pick it up.... I will write a review as well and maybe some pics at the range.

The Nitron is on my short list... But I can't offer any experiences for your judgement...

I've had one for about 4 years, the 1911R model that had the digital camo grips and a rail.  It's been great, I paid my smith to clean up and lighten the trigger to 4lbs, but other than that it's hard to find any way that my custom and semi-custom 1911's are superior in any way.

I have 2 SIG 1911's - RCS Sport (commander size) and a full size model called the Fastback. Both have been flawless.

Thanks for the info so far. I won't be able to pick it up until Monday due to my schedule not lining up with my FFL. It really sucks knowing it's payed for and sitting there waiting for me, and I have to wait.... not one of my strong suits. I want the instant gratification damnit!! OK I'm off to pout now......

You are either a Sig die-hard and love them or you have no interest in them.  Purists are not big fans of the differences between Sig's 1911 design and the original.

From what I have heard, you should be happy with your purchase.

I never understood why Sig felt the need to put the gun's finish in the name.

I predict you're going to love your new gun.  They are well made and have all the good stuff you want in a 1911, but none of the doo-dads you don't.

I don't use the supplied mags with mine, I bought Wilson 47Ds so they fit more flush.

Both of mine have been 100% out of the box with no fiddling or return trips to Sig.  I sold the full size only because I wasn't carrying it after getting the Nightmare.

Thanks for the replies. So far I have found the quality to be as good as any other semi custom 1911 manufacturer, which is a very good thing. I am not a big fan of the external extractor, but I know Sig has done their homework on it. My old Kimber CDP was miserable.

I took it apart and cleaned it today, and added a pair of G10 grips, just black nothing fancy. I will take some better photos and pot them up when I get time. So far so good, the first range outing will tell me if I made the right choice.... I'm sure that it won't disappoint.

I have had my Sig 9mm for a couple years or guess its been 4 now..hell time flys when your having fun.
I have put 1000s of rounds through it shooting several times every month with out too many hickups.
Some mag related but Wilson replaced 4 of my almost 2 dozen 10 round mags, and most of them all work at the moment.
I really abuse the hell out of them, and they keep on truckin..with spare springs on hand just in case. ( Damn Love the gun,
and will never sell it.) Accurate as hell, and I guess I have gotten a lot better too. Its called the Stainless Match Elite 9mm.

The new one for me is the SiG  Fastback Nitron 45 cal 1911.
I really didnt like the all black finish..I mean its ok and all...just like Stainless and Nickel better thats all.
It also shoots extremely well..almost better than the 9mm, just not as consistent with it yet as Ive only shot it for a couple months.
I had the frame and internals Nickel plated at Robar in North Phx and the slide Cerakoted at Area15.
I replaced the trigger and slide release last month and they need to go to plating next.
Now I really like the gun alot better and In my head it shoots better too...( Not )  The Sigs all shoot well out of the box,
No work really required, I just cant leave well enough alone.
The 45 seems to love the Federal Aluminum case ammo and no FTF or Eject so far. ( Accurate too. )
Need to put the new Kensight rear sight in place and Im done messin with it.
I think you will like the Sig just fine..GTG in my book anyway.
