I'm trying to sell my 1911 I have but not sure what price to list it as. A few months a go my friends dad was wanting to sell his Colt MKIV series 80 stainless government model 1911. Seeing how I'm close to the family, he sold it to be for $500. It had some scratches on it but nothing major. Wanting to sell it for either a SIG 1911 or a newer COLT 1911 that is in a commander size and not full sized.

Here is a picture.

I would not sell that for a Sig 1911, not really much of an improvement IMHO. That said as far as value, check out Gun Broker closed auctions to get a ball park value.

I agree with this. A Sig might be newer and look cooler, but that colt will hold its value way better than a sig.

I see it selling for $900. Might just buy a newer Colt, I really want a government model to carry.  I'm just not a fan of the stainless look or full size gun gov model. Really just bought the gun cause I could not pass up the deal lol.
