After 25 month wait my Pro finally came in. My local dealer allowed me to order it to his FFL and pay for it when it was completed. My total delivered with tax was $2318. I've wanted one of these for the better part of a decade and have to say I'm very impressed with the quality of this pistol. The 20lpi checkering does not seem as sharp as the TRP I've shot, I'm thinking due to the hand finishing it got. Safety looks to be a Wilson BP Ambi, and the S&A magwell is nicely blended. Lockup is very tight, can't wait to shoot it later this week or early next!

Anyone remember what other parts go into this, are they mostly Springfield at this point? I know the barrels aren't Nowlin anymore.

I'm a big fan of the VZ thumb scoops, so may change out the grips.

Jealous.  I could barely afford the Loaded Operator I just got lol

Oh I hear ya, I had to sell a couple guns to cover it! I've actually spent more on my MC Operator after its 2 trips to SACS. Loaded operator is a nice gun, and able to be nicely upgraded at your leasure down the road if you wanted.

Wow - 25 months!

Back in either 06 or 08, I waited like 14 months for a 9mm Springfield Custom Shop Full Rail Operator. That seemed like forever. 25 months?!?! Yikes!

Nice gun, though.

I think they still run on the FBI delivery order schedule, so a normal SACS pistol should take less time.

ETA: Congrats OP, that is super nice.

I think a regular custom order is 12 months or so with 50% deposit. Since these are all built to the FBI specs they don't require a deposit, gun would just go to the next guy in line.

On the other hand you can send them a factory gun and they can checker it and whatever else you'd want done, in about 14-16 weeks.

Very nice. My brother has one on order. I'd love to get one someday.

Looks great man  I can't wait to get mine. I will have a set ( one railed one without the rail)  in May or June I have set back $200 each month so it will not be such a financial impact.

My buddy ordered a railed Pro the same day as me, he is supposed to be getting his next month sometime.

Very Nice.  I would love a railed Pro but I don't see how you guys do it.  Wait that is.  Very nice 1911s but two fucking years?  NO fucking way.  I'd go nuts.
Got a buddy, fellow officer and who is also a member here, who ordered a railed pro with FED agency serial number as part of a run when said fed agency authorized the Pro for carry.  Agency fucked its guys over and only a limited number were made.  Buddy ordered then waited and waited and two years later called to find out where he was on the Pro.  He was told he's in luck his was just being started but unfortunately, they had run out of Agency serial numbered frames so his would be the regular old Pro serial number.  After waiting two fucking years for an agency serial numbered pro he said fuck it, cancelled and bought an STI 2011.

You could put it on Gunbroker tonight and make a grand. I have sold more than a few on gunbroker for $3000+.

Great gun for the price. No better a gun than an equivalent RRA or Les Baer, but you have the added benefit of knowing that they are made to the same specifications of some switched on guys.

If Glock could figure out how to charge $800 for a CAG model G19, they would do it and guys would line up to pay, much like Sig does with their MK25.

Well done OP.

I "settled" for a TRP Operator.

One day I will have a Pro.

What RRA/Les Baer is the equal of the SA Champion?

I wanted one so bad, but decided to upgrade my mil-spec for now. I jokingly call it my Springfield Pro Clone. I have to say though that there are times I'm glad I went this route. Too many other things I "need"!
Also definitely get the VZ's. I had similar grips and switched. I really like them, and use this gun to shoot Heavy Metal Division in multi-gun infrequently, USPSA single stack and Limited 10 for those weird days.

I had upgraded a Mil-spec prior to ordering the pro, I like your rear sight. What other work did you do? If the pro ever goes in for anything I'd like the Harrison rear sight with ledge, and maybe undercut front strap. My Operator is at SACS now for a rear sight and few other things. I just emailed them after seeing the pro and asked for the Black-T finish.

Outside of the stuff you can see there is some minor interior ramp work, to guarantee feeding even when dirty during a match.  Also a mild trigger job,  with the new trigger.  SteveRose of Rose Action Sports did all the work.
