| Thinking about buying one of these in blue, any issues? |

Other than that they are good guns though. I really like mine. Another gun with very similar features is the Springfield Loaded. Here is my XSE http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc417/tim151515/Mobile%20Uploads/20140903_175915_zps20fe8698.jpg vs the Loaded http://p3-group.us/inventory/PX9109LP_1911_LOADED_TARGET_STAINLESS_NIGHT_SIGHTS.png They really look like they could be the same gun other than the finish and rollmarks. However I do not know if the Springer has the full length guide rod though. I know it is easy to replace though either way. Quoted:

Or would adjustments somehow have to be made if the gun was made for the solid guide rod? |

Half of my colt 1911's have FLGR's and half don't. Meh.
They do nothing for functionality, good OR bad as far as I can see, and I still don't understand the whining about disassembling and reassembling the pistol whether it has one or not. A "little" different?... sure. But I will never term it to be a "deal breaker". If you really "must" not live with it, it's a no-brainer to swap it out for the standard guide rod. I wouldn't waste what little money that would cost. |

You CAN swap it out. All my FLGR Springers (full size 5" 1911 with bushing to clarify) are running shorty GI's. Quoted:
