Not really a 1911 in the true sense but it's definitely patterned after one. I just traded a M&P Shield for this little jewel. I don't find much on the internet about them other than they're Argentinian and kind of a cross between a 1911 and a Star. From what I gather the barrel, recoil spring, guide rod, grips, mag, and barrel bushing are pretty much interchangeable with a 1911. Anyone know much more about these or have a good source of information? I just bought 4 mags from CMP to go with it but I haven't shot it yet. It has "CFS" markings on the slide which I've read indicate their secret police, other than that I only know it was probably made in the early 1950's. Another neat thing is that I received a box of original ammo for it. Any idea what it may be worth?

I'd say $400 or thereabouts, barring some unusually collectible variant.

There was a fair number of these made and they are not too hard to come by.  I've seen them fall between $400 and $600 based on condition- but mostly towards the $400 end.

Good pistols, used by the British SOE during WWII. Those guns have a "B" serial number prefix. The price has steadily increased on them over the years.

Here's another article about the legend of the Graf Spee steel.
