Remington R1. Shot it the first time today and got a few problems.

Two times the slide lock open when the last round is still there. The rounds is not in the magazine but the slide lock open and didn't chamber the rounds. Two other times I insert a loaded magazine when the slide is open. After inserted the mag the slide is “stuck”. I can not rack the slide to chamber the first round. I have to press the mag release and pull the mag by the base plate to get the mag out. Afterward I reinserted the same mag back and it work fine then. And one time a round failed to feed all way into the chamber. It was like halfway in and the slide was about halfway forward/back. Pull the magazine out and reinserted and work fine again. I shot about 130rds today. Mostly Federal 230gr and Remington HP 230gr. I'm thinking it's the factory magazine that cause the first four failed and the gun needing a break in period for the failure to feed. Does this sound right? |

Kimber of mine did this I replaced the mags with Wilson ETMs. Most problems with 1911's can be attributed to cheap mags.
I stick with Wilson, Tripp, Chip McCormick, and the Metal Form ones that came with my SA pistols. Do not buy cheap 1911 mags they will make you hate your 1911. |

I've got one and love it.
Shot Tul, WWb, Perfecta and CCI aluminum through it and only one partial feed with the Perfecta. I did clean and oil it when I got it. The bushing is a tight fit but should wear in. Only issue I have with it is where the barrel hits the frame. The legs on the barrel also hit so I filed them down just a little. There is no relief undercut there. But for $560 delivered and 200 rounds of Remington HTP rebate . . . |
