I have no idea what it is. The end piece appears to be soldered on and has no markings.

I wonder if it isn't one of the aftermarket barrel bushings that allows you to use a car oil filter as a makeshift sound suppressor.

Should have mentioned that it is attached to an extended barrel, not a bushing. The threads seem too coarse to be for a oil filter.

Perhaps it was made for the old MAC10 Sionics suppressors? Those had a pretty coarse barrel thread.

I think you may be on to something. I just measured the threads with a caliper and it appears to be 7/8" X 9tpi which is MAC .45acp threads.

from the picture it looks to be a 7/8-9 thread which is correct for the M10-.45 silencer
