I recently traded for a Combat Commander, the oast owner said that it was made in 1977. The interesting thing is the etching on the slide. It is etched, Don Judd, Pistolsmith, Midland, Texas. I have started to research this a little. I read that Don Judd was a renown pistolsmith in the 70's and early 80's. One article said that he unfortunately suffered a stroke in the 80's and had to retire for his business. If anyone has any information on his work, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
I would like to find some grips to replaced the Colt rubber checkered grips. Maybe some nice wood or possibly fake ivory or stag. I want to doll her up a little.
