Does anyone know somebody that can hand checker the front of the grip on a1911?
I bought a Kimber Procarry II and love it. I had Kimber night sights installed and now I want the front of the grip checkered. I am in the Austin Tx area. Yes I know about Hank Fleming and he has done good work for me before but he really stays backed up with work. The work so far on the gun has been adding night sights. I could have gotten it with night sights but the one without was 150 bucks cheaper and they had a sale on with 100 bucks off the price. Buying the gun and finding the factory sights afterwards saved about 200 bucks total that can go toward checkering. I have on order the Wilson's add on checkering metal. I use it on a couple of other 1911's I conceal carry but my new sig1911 checkering spoiled me. As a mini review of the Kimber Procarry. Five hundred round fired using Wilson, mecgar, Novak and some no name mags, all shots with no malfunctions. Tried federal, spear, nosler and hornaday defense loads and zero malfunctions. Fit and finish are great. Btw, I found the Kimber night sights on sears web sight for 100 buck. Made according to the codes in October 2013. |

My vote is for Alchemy. Rob and his guys do a phenomenal job. I had him to do my STI 9mm with a machine checkering and it's sharp! Equate it to my factory checkered TRP.
