I have shot several different 1911s and have wanted to own one for quite a while. Now I own one!

Para Ordnance Expert Stainless

"Para's Expert Stainless is a 45 ACP with a 5" stainless match grade barrel
and steel frame & slide. It has a 2-dot combat rear sight with a green
fiber optic front sight. Comes with a beavertail grip safety and an
adjustable skeletonized trigger. Stainless finish with polymer grips. Comes
with two 8-rd magazines."

My first choice going in was going to be the Springfield Loaded or RO model based on research. The store did not have the Loaded model, and I did not care for the RO when I held it and really did not care for the adjustable rear sight. I looked at a couple of other 1911s but this Para felt the best in hand and the trigger is very light. The pistol in general and the trigger feel better than my neighbor's $1300 Kimber....

I put 40 rounds through it at the store range before leaving, this thing is accurate! Well at least when I do my part, I rushed some shots and pulled them to the left. It shoots great, I cannot wait to put some more rounds downrange. I bought some bullets/primers today so will get ammo loaded up over the holiday weekend.

I need to buy a couple additional mags now.

Anyone have experience with this pistol? Thoughts or suggestions on what to change out or watch for?

Don't change anything if you like it!! Just go shoot it and enjoy it. The more you shoot it.. clean it.. the more you get into the 1911 world, the more you will learn. Its very easy to get lost in the aftermarket world for the 1911, and many well meaning folks take a gun that works, and "fix" it with parts until it no longer works.

I should have taken a pic of the target before I dumped the additional 3 mags on paper. At 10 yards the first 2 mags were all X and 9 ring. But then I started shooting a bit faster and pushed back to 20 yards and they spread out.
I plan to shoot it off the bench at my normal range (with sand bags, no ransom rest or anything) at 25 yards and see what it will do.

I have a Para P12 and am very happy with it. The only thing I would like to change on mine are the plastic grips.

You seem to have been infected with the JMB disease.

I know how you feel.  I had a bunch of Glocks and then got a good deal on my first 1911 and I was hooked too.

I've been stocking up on Wilson Combat ETM magazines.  They're not cheap, but good magazines will last you a lifetime and work in ALL of your 1911's.

I was looking at the McCormick Power Mags. They are a bit cheaper and from what little I have read seem to be ranked very close to the Wilson mags.

I found some Metalform mags for a good price, reading up on them seems that they are the supplier for Colt mags. May get a couple just for range use.

Looking at holsters too, have a Blackhawk level 2 back ordered from the shop I got the pistol from. I don't really plan to conceal the 1911, my Ruger SR40C fits that role, but may get a Crossbreed or something similar too just in case I want to conceal this.

Thanks for the pic, its good to see the manufacturer didn't attack the gun with one of those God awful lazer etching machines.

I saw a video on a 1911 forum on how they converted VZ operator grips for the P14 to fit the P12.
I'm doing the same thing now to fit them on my P13 but they will be a little short because of the hole sitting half way over the end of the pistols grip

Seconding the Wilson Combats. They are an investment. Got five, now. Getting more, you better believe it.
