Looking at a ATI 1911 they describe the pistol haveing a military safety. What is a Military safety?

I take it they mean an standard, non-extended thumb safety.

I had one of the Thunderbolt railed 5" ones and it was a very nice gun for the money. The only reason I sold it was I also have an MC Operator and they were just too similar of guns to justify keeping them both. I was very pleased with the ATI though!

They mean that it has a GI safety.

Here is a pic of the driver's side. Roll mark is surprisingly unobnoxious.

Miliary 1911s have 2 safeties.  One is the grip safety and the other located on left side of frame that flips up into a notch in the left rea of slide.  I also have a ATI government model.  Very nice pistol for $500.
