Looking at acquiring one. I have heard lots of people complain that officer size 1911's have a tendency to jam up more than others. Is there any truth in this, or is this just internet-talk?
Also, can anyone post pics of their DW ECO/ Carry Rigs? And Anyone have any testimony about the ECO? |
| I don't have a DW but I do carry a 3 inch Kimber. Thus far no problems at all, went through 200 to 300 in various loads for the break in then another 100 of the Speer Gold Dot 230 JHP for short barrel. Total so far around 1000 rounds with no issues. The Dan Wesson is a fine weapon with a good reputation I would not worry. I looked at them but the price was higher than I wanted to pay and I would have had to spend more money on amp. safety since I am a lefty. |

I picked up a DW Eco in 9mm this week. Ran around 100 rds thru it, including some 124gr gold dots w/o any problems. My parents had it fail to go into batter several times, but they were also limp wristing it, too. Recoil is very mild. Great little gun! I have also shot some Officer size/Scandium frame S&W 1911's and the recoil wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be compared to a steel frame Commander. Many of the issues with smaller 1911's relate to timing; shorter slide means it cycles quicker and is less tolerant of slow mag springs and other stuff like that.
