Hello,
Does anybody have (PDF) illustrated instructions for field stripping a 1911 with a FULL LENGTH GUIDE ROD?  The ones I've found online have not been great or are as long as a novel!  Thanks in advance...

Did you search YouTube? You might run into a few airsoft videos.

I was looking for a hard copy that I can keep in the case.  Just a few pages long...

Bushing or bull barrel?  5" or 4" ?

It's not difficult at all, just need to know which you have.

There are differing views on how to field strip a 1911...Youtube will discuss many..
Just get your gun and sit in front of the video and stop the video and do the first
srep then start and view the next..on and on

If you field strip your gun 5 times you`ll never have to look at a video again...it`s simple
the videos a far easier to follow than reading about the field strip...

Best method to FS a 1911 with a FLGR is to remove mag, clear, run slide back to slide release hole, hold, remove slide release, remove slide, toss FLGR in trash, install USGI style guide and plug and carry on.

if you drill the guide rod just in front of the frame with the slide locked back... insert a bent "L" shaped clip... then release the slide, the spring and guide rod will come out as a captured unit... you must remove the lip at the rear of the spring tunnel with a drill bit or cutter though to slide the guide/spring/plug out... barrel then comes out easily
