| I was going to get a Rock Island 1911 compact due to the reviews they get and the reputation for reliabilty and quality for the price. I was wondering if anybody has any problem with GI sights or if it would be worth it to spring for the model with Novaks. I was thinking on having nights sights installed I do not know if thats possible with GI machined sights. |
if you are willing to forego the Novacks, and just install a dovetail front and fixed rear, IMHO the best fixed sights that fit in a standard dovetail are the Swensight... you might be able to find a set on the used market, or in the stock of well established gunsmiths...
