I headed to the local gun show yesterday with hope of picking up a new carry gun. After spending about three hours wandering around and feeling a little underwhelmed, I came across a gentleman carrying around this little guy:
It has replacement sights, and a funky guide rod/recoil spring set up, but it's in nice shape. We haggled a little back and forth on the price, and eventually I walked away with it. It came with one factory Colt mag, one aftermarket magazine, the original brown hard case, manual, paperwork, cardboard sleeve, and even the plastic bag that the gun was wrapped in! I've ordered an EGW recoil assembly to replace this mysterious unit that it came with: 
I'm pleased with it. I also ordered a set of black duragrips, since I'm not a fan of wrap-arounds. Now I have to find a holster and head to the range! Does anyone know who made this guide rod setup? It looks like a nice unit, but I'm not sure how it comes apart to access the inner spring, nor where I would look to get replacements. Thanks for looking! -Parke1 |
