Were any 1911A1s ever issued by the US Military ever issued WITHOUT lanyard loops?
I'm trying to build an 1911A1 clone, but my mainspring housing has no Lanyard loop, and I would hate to have to replace it so if any were ever issued like that I won't have to. If I do have to replace it, where can I get an A1 mainspring housing with the loop? I found some flat ones at Numrich, but that's not what I need. How much fitting is required? |

Auto Ordnance sells one.
Arched MSH with Lanyard Loop The price is around $32 before shipping I bought one of these in spite of the atrocious spelling in the ad, it fit and functioned just fine in a Springfield Range Officer |

Everything was fine.

Yes, early. Later they were serrated like the ones on my Remington Rand and the RIA. BTW, there should be no fitting req'd. if you get the one from Auto Ordnance. But then again, that probably depends on what frame you're using. http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb27/INLAND44/Guns/2a1e.jpg When did they stop using the checkered? The frame is a Tisas. |
