Have wanted a dbl stack one for years but just haven't made the leap. They're a top level quality gun, buy with confidence, IMO. I see quite a few of them at my USPSA matches & guns don't get kept there if they don't work well.

Great guns.  I have a STI Trojan. in 9mm.  Like it almost as my Springfield TRP.  Their customer service is top notch.

I have an STI Spartan in 9mm. Excellent shooter and very surprisingly reliable. Buy it!

I have the Lawman 5.0 and it is capable of extremely tight groups with little felt recoil. The sights are fine for range work but less than ideal for carry and I would prefer a more beveled mag well but I can change that. It's definitely the most bang for the buck in my 1911 collection. The one's I like better cost considerably more and the Wilson CQB is the only one that I can consistently produce a slightly tighter grouping with. I wish I would have bought an STI sooner.

I've got an STI Elektra .45acp.  It's extremely well made and very accurate.  It's been 100% reliable so far, 3 years and running.  When I first saw these I knew I wanted, one.  I knew STI made good guns but I didn't expect how incredibly accurate they are.  It's fun to shoot at the range and have people from the lanes on either side  peek in to see what I was shooting to get such good groups and see a little pink compact 1911 lol.  The only thing I didn't really love was the plastic trigger but it performs so well I have zero plans to change a thing.  They do come in other colors if someone wants one lol.

Nice gun Brandi. Showed my wife that picture and now she's checking online for pricing.

I've had a steelmaster in .38 super, a 9mm, a .40, and two 45 doublestack 2011s. They're great guns built by a great company. They are worth the money.

If she gets one she will love it.  Whenever I'm at the range just about every woman who see's it comes over to ask about it.  Several husbands and boyfriends have lightened their wallets because of their wives and girlfriends seeing my gun lol.

I own a few STIs.  They are probably about the best production gun going today, a couple notches above Kimber and Springfield but falling a bit short of the premium semi-customs.

All mine are quite accurate and the build quality is good.   They use a proprietary recoil assembly called the Recoil Master that I usually get rid of in favor of a traditional guide rod setup.  All of mine have exhibited issues locking the slide back on an empty mag.   I discovered the slide stops were too long to reliably let the follower push them up.  Shortening the slide stop or replacing with a shorter one has fixed the issues on all of them.

STI make great guns and have great customer service if you need them. All of their guns except the Spartan are made in TX. My first STI was the Trojan. It was far superior to my TRP (and cost less$) and Ruger SR1911. I ended up selling the Ruger and bought the Edge. I really like their double stack 2011s. You should check out 1911forum.com. They have a dedicated page for people to discuss their STIs. You'll find a ton of info and reviews about them there.
