If you own a 5" Dan Wesson 1911 how tall is your front sight? Just picked up a specialist with an approx. .175" front sight and after 300 rounds I am shooting consistently about 2-3" low.
Not sure what to make of the straight eight sights as I'm used to a 3-dot sight. I want to like them and am trying to adjust to them. Should I just adjust POA or get a .140 front sight on there? |

Here's my experience with DW front sights:
DW Experience More As I noted in the thread, the front sight on my Valor was .190 and hit dead on with a POA hold. |
| Make sure you are aligning the sights not the dots! Carefully align sights equal height and light ignore the dots and see where you hit - often focusing on the dots can often cause the front sight to be a little high or low of the front sight and cause elevation issues |
