night sights, either Meprolight or Trijicon HD I shoot the pistol more outside than inside. It's just when I do go to an indoor range it is almost impossible to accurately shoot because of the poor lighting. I've heard night sights don't really perform that well outside compared to fiber optics. This pistol is more of a "competition" pistol in the sense that I want to be able to pull up and shoot quickly (quick acquisition). I also don't want to replace the rear sight, do people often use only a front night sight? Thoughts? |

Fiber Optic Front Sight and call it a day.
Go to Dawson Precision - HERE |

Thanks, I think.. I wasn't aware there were so many different ways to configure your sights
Those fiber optics look really nice though! |

As I've aged, I've learned to appreciate a fiber optic front sight with a plain black rear. If you go to a fiber optic, though, I recommend a reasonably wide rear notch (you can open the notch on your factory rear sight if you don't want to replace it). The wide notch and fiber optic front site are not designed for precision shooting, but they are fast and easy.
I'm not sure what dovetail they're using on the Springfield, but if it's a .300" x 60°, you might look at Wilson. I have one set of tritium sights (meprolights) but don't see much benefit from them unless I'm in really dim light. A gold bead does pick up ambient light quite well and looks downright classy, I think. But the fiber optic (I like red, but have nothing against green) is the friendliest front sight for my 50+ year old eyes. If your SA is shooting where it's supposed to now, measure the front sight and make sure you order a replacement of the same height. |

Those fiber optics look really nice though! Dawson is the way to go. A thin front will give you more daylight on each side of the post, which should help inside and out. |

A fiber front and black rear is probably the most common sight picture with action pistol competitors, including me. It's also not unusual to see just a tritium front. |
