I have a couple Colt 9mm 1911s and have a 38 Super conversion barrel for one and have been playing with the idea of 22 TCM just because. I wouldn't be willing to buy a full RIA setup just to do it but would spring for a barrel if it was feasible but RIA refuses to sell just the barrel.

Is this even doable and anybody have a source for the barrel?

Fred Craig helped develop the .22 TCM for Armscor.   He'd be the guy to talk to about buying barrels, if anybody.

Rock Island sends two extractors with the TCM/9mm pistol.  I have not tried the 9mm extractor with the TCM, but if it didn't work I would think it could be tweeked.

And Fred would know.  He helped me quite a bit.

Thanks, I talked to them on the phone today and they said that it was a problem getting it to run on single stacks and requires a re-worked mag and as such have not gotten into them yet but RIA is supposed to be working on a single stack version for the CA/NY/Etc crowd.

He does say that they have their "select" versions in commander length 22TCM only for $550 right now and a 5" 9mm/22TCM for $600 right now. I'm kind of tempted but would really prefer a single stack version or better yet a conversion barrel which he said may be in the future.
