I'm too lazy to search for you, but there is a member on 1911adddicts that builds 7" pistols

The only 7" longslide 1911 I have ever seen was the old AMT Hardballer. As seen in the original Terminator movie

I know Caspian offers 6" long slides.  Don't know about the 7", the only 2 places I have seen 7" slides are AMT and custom pieces that were welded together from more than one slide.

I would make Caspian my first place to look though.

G&A did a cover story around the same time on the late Jim Boland's mega-longslide M1911 conversions, including a 16" barreled carbine.  The slides were so heavy that he converted them from recoil-operation to gas-operation.

You sure about that? IIRC they only offer 6".
I went to go look on their web site and I got a message from my anti virus "TROJUN HORSE BLOCKED". Fuck'n oly arms!
I've always been on the look out for one of those AMT Longslides. I've seen them twice at shows in the $400 range but didn't have the cash ATM. I saw a 10mm (Javelina) at a shop here for $750. To much money for a caliber I really didn't want. It's kinda my grail gun.

Les Baer makes a 6 inch slide that is very accurate and a quality piece.

Might have to go with a 6"slide with a long comp. Have the front of comp dovetailed for a front sight. It will not be a cheap proposition any way you look at it. The amt slides were cast along with the frames.

6" is much more common, you should go with 6 and a comp

I have nothing to contribute other than wishing you luck on your quest. 6"+ guns are second in sexiness only to full rail TRP Operators.
