I recently won a FOP raffle and won a Bersa CC .380 pistol. I really don't want that model pistol but a Springfield Armory 9mm 1911 Target model caught my eye.

It would be roughly $700 out the door with the Bersa credit.

Should I fo?

I have one. 9mm 1911s are a hoot to shoot.

Only a few years ago, I got mine for $700.

I've had it rebarreled with a KKM. It is very accurate at 50 yards now. It might be my favorite pistol to shoot.

Love mine. No regrets.

The shop that is handling the raffle winnings is not known for their prices.

Typical pricing seems to be $950 for this pistol nowadays, they're a bit above that but with the credit it seems like a good deal.

They are great guns.  You will love it. I use Wilson Combat mags. Zero failures with them.

That's not a bad price.  If nothing else, you should be able to get your money back out of it.  I tend to recommend the STI Spartan or Trojan instead, since they generally don't need a lot of spring swapping, extractor tuning, and a rebarrel out of the box.

I'm going to look at it tonight.

I've never shot a 9mm 1911, do they take standard recoil springs and in what lb range?

Yes.  9-14 pounds is common, with most folks staying around 10-12.

Yes fo.  I still regret not picking up a used one that looked new at a local shop for $600

I ended up passing on it.

The pistol was somewhat beat, it was used and I couldn't talk myself into spending what amounted to new pricing on it.
