You guys are going to think I am crazy. I have a kimber ultra. Just replaced the firing pin with a wilson and a wolf spring. I but 300 rds thru it went to clean it. Took off the firing pin stop I was careful not to  let the firing pin fly out it didint. But only the firing pin came out no spring! I cleaned it look in the firing pin hole no spring as far as I can see. Put the old pin an spring in, went in just fine. Is it possible that old spring is still in there? I am at a loss of words on this. It did not fly out when I removed the pin stop sure of it. ANy ideas????

Can't see how you could have 2 firing pin springs in place and get the pin to insert properly.  Remove everything and take one more look.  Run a pipe cleaner or somethings down the channel to double check.  If there's no spring, reassemble and chalk it up to gremblins.  Sometimes those sneeky devils just get away.  Good luck.

2 points-1) no way two springs could fit in
            2) if you are detail stripping your slide for cleaning after 300 rounds you need to increase the dose of OCD meds.
One detail strip every three thousand on the slide is plenty

Does the Ultra have the Swartz safety?

I don't see how the gun would reliably function with no spring, I also don't think the stop would stay on for 300 rounds with no spring.

Maybe it somehow evaporated when you were taking it apart...  It happens with small parts.

Well I took it apart again just to be sure and I fashion a paper clip with a small hook on one end. There isnt a spring in there good news. But I have no idea how it got passed me.LoL

I had to do detail strip because my Kimber ultra was having major problems running. I ended up changing out a ot of the internal parts. I have it fixed now, hopefully. I have had so much trouble with this gun it is hard to trust it.
