| I have any older springfield that I'm not sure if its a mil-spec or another model. It has NM on the mag and at the beginning of the serial # does this mean its a national match? |

To make this even more confusing, Springfield did make (years back) a GI-Milspec.
These were made before the Milspec and the GI became 2 different models. I don't know for sure, but this MAY have been before the NM maked frames. Pics would help. Is this pistol phosphate finished (parked or matte), or blued? |

It's a milspec, but yeah, those markings are a little different. The one I had, had the crossed cannons towards the front and the lettering a little higher than that. Interesting two tone look also.
That's not a beavertail OP. That's a GI style grip safety. I take that back, the lettering is about the same on the one I had but the crossed cannons are on the front of the slide. |

It's different because his is from before they had the Mil-Spec they make now. Back in the day they had a Standard and a G.I. Mil-Spec. Ithink his is a G.I. Mil-Spec if the grips are original. I had a Standard a long time ago that was the same as we call a Mi-Spec now. |
