Just picked up a Ruger 1911SR Commander size, and I was wanting to add a mag well extender.  I have a large hand and that extra bit of length will help.  So I bought the pistol about 3 weeks ago and yesterday I was in a local shop and the guy behind the counter insisted that if I do a mag well extender on this Ruger I will need a shorter main spring housing.  I was under the impression that the Ruger was full size in the group.  Any way he and I went back and forth for a bit(did not have my pistol on me at the time) and I ended up leaving.  I have been looking and not been able to actually confirm this, but can someone who has a full size 1911 mind measuring the height of their mainspring housing so I can compare to mine?

Thanks,

Ashton
