Has anyone had this package done? Good/Bad? Appears worth the cost.
I am about pickup a Sig 1911 Tactical Operations with threaded barrel. Current owner said it's close to year old, with low round count, and maybe was his carry weapon. Thinking after checking gun over (only seen pics so far). Then I might send to sig have them perform the service package, and maybe refinish if worn form holster. |

A year old? Please - beat the snot out of it shoot 20k then send it in! I have never seen a year old gun that ever needed " service" especially In private hands!
Maybe some police academy gun. Finish wear on a gun is like smile lines on a face- refinishing is for people who are not on a high enough dose of OCD medicine |

But this will be my first 1911, it most likely will be on my night stand or a safe queen. |

TrailblazerSS - The other posters are right. I'll just add that the SIG Service Package is geared towards their P-series with high mileage. Some of the springs are hard to get to for the average gun owner plus they specialize in those pistols. For those guns it's a good deal. Getting a SIG 1911 is a smart move and it should last many years. Just think of it as a 1911 first and a SIG second and treat it as such. Shoot, clean, lube and change springs yourself. Then you'll be GTG.
