I have wanted this gun for a while and finally made the purchase. |

I have the TACOPS.
Basically the same gun with the black cerakote instead of the tan. Sig makes 3 or 4 1911s that are basically the exact same pistol; they just change the color of some of the external components... They are series 80 pistols, meaning they have that stupid ass plunger lever (part of firing pin block mechanism) that impedes slide installation during reassembly. Mine is pretty accurate even with crappy ammo. Not as smooth as my wife's Springer 19132LP though. http://i1323.photobucket.com/albums/u594/You_Vette_Your_Ass/TACOPS_zps94716902.jpg |

Quoted: The slide will move back about 1/16" with no effort at all. I believe that the barrel feet are making that jump every time it's fired. My Caspian custom, nor Les Baers do this.Quoted: Mine won't engage the hold open and has a misfit barrel link. How did you determine the link was improperly fit? Is the slide beating up the barrel lugs? |

Mine won't engage the hold open and has a misfit barrel link. How did you determine the link was improperly fit? Is the slide beating up the barrel lugs? Sounds like a long link, but unfortunately that is usually a side effect of imperfect barrel fit. In your particular gun, the long link may be necessary to achieve lower lug contact with the frame vertical impact surface, or it may be necessary to push the barrel higher to get enough upper lug engagement. My SIG rides the link as well (as does just about every sub-$1000 1911 I own), but not much can be done about it short of fitting a new oversized barrel. Fortunately I'm not unhappy with the accuracy, which isn't too bad. My point is that simply installing a shorter link can cause worse problems. |
