Springfield GI's?
I'm thinking about trading / selling my CZ and adding another 1911 to the stable. I would like a A1 pattern model or one that is very close. I've had a RIA GI before, but want something different this go around. Am I limited to gunbroker? What about the auto ord offerings? I would even settle for a mil spec (would help in the sight offerings, although I don't mine the hump and a bump sights) |

Check your local gander mountain, I know many folks are against them now so its your choice. i was in mine last week scrounging for ammo and they had 2 and they looked to be NIB for 600 bucks. I wish we had one close. Closest one to me is in knoxville - 2.5 hours out. |

The Auto Ordnance M1911PKZSE "World War II Parkerized" is a good buy. Mine was tighter fitted out of the box than most GI replicas I've handled. And it has the Series 80 system. Other than those two things, it's pretty close to GI spec.
Magazine wise, all of my different mags work reliably in it. Mine has proven to be a reliable weapon so far (500 rounds and counting). The major downside for some folks is that it is more expensive than the Rock Island Filipino guns (I paid 549.95 plus tax for mine at the local outfitter). But it's worth looking into. |
