Sometimes, I swear I have a problem. I get bored with a gun, and want to trade it off. Generally, not a big deal for me, and I rarely regret it. This time, though, I almost thought about trading my TRP for a Sig P226. Now, I love my TRP; more than any 1911 I've owned. But, I'd really like a 226 to play with as well. Thankfully, after some careful research, I've come to realize I just can't easily conceal a pistol that large. I think I would have really regretted it had I traded my beloved TRP. I'll just have to save up the money to buy the 226 as a range toy. Now, since this is a tech forum. If I purchase the adjustable Novaks, will they hand fit right into the rear sight dovetail on my TRP, since it is already sporting Novak's?

No, the adjustable Novaks will require an additional cut to be made. I'd suggest looking into the adjustable sight made by Champion / Kensights, since they will fit the fixed Novak cut.
...and I don't think you're missing anything being without a 226. Mine's long gone and I don't miss it in the least. |

Quoted: Say 5 hail Brownings and 5 Our Fathers. Don't worry, I have. I even gave the TRP an extra nice cleaning as way of an apology! The P226 E2 is, other than a 1911, the most natural pointing pistol I've ever put in my hand. And since I've worked in a gun shop, I've tested just about everything but the newest models. It blew me away that a pistol could feel that good and instinctive.

Quoted: I had a very similar experience with a P226. The only time that I have fired a Sig at all has been with simunition rounds. But, the way the pistol "handled" while participating in the training scenarios made me seriously consider purchasing a P226 or a P220SAO. The P226 E2 is, other than a 1911, the most natural pointing pistol I've ever put in my hand. My decision not to came down to economics. I already had 5 1911s and a couple of 30 cal ammo cans full of mags. The Sigs offered nothing that my 1911s didn't already do very well and the cost of SIG mags is obscene compared to 1911 mags. |

The Sig was ok, but I hated the located of the slide lock and the thing was huge - bigger than my full-size 1911 I think. |

I just ordered six of these 18 round Mec-Gars from Top Gun Supply for $23.95 @. http://www.topgunsupply.com/mec-gar_p226-9mm-18rd-magazine-flush-fit-afc.html And two of these 20 round Mec-Gars for $29.95 @. http://www.topgunsupply.com/mec-gar-p226-9mm-20rd-magazine-afc.html And two of these 19 round blued SIG Sauer 9mm X Five Magazines with the special baseplates( made by Mec-Gar and stamped with their name) , for "only" $75.99@ which might qualify as being obscenely priced; some vendors want $100 or more for them.

I love it and don't know what I was thinking. But I do know I would of regretted that trade in the end.
