Gonna be buying a few parts for my Delta Elite soon, and need some help choosing some quality parts.

Keep in mind, this is a series 80 gun.

Being that this is an older gun, it has the dual-recoil spring set-up that I would like to swap out. I will be putting in a 22lb recoil spring, as I have read this is the "go-to" weight for this gun. As such, I will need a new guide-rod, which is why it is listed below.

Also listed below is a flat-bottom firing pin stop, another thing I have read is recommended change from everything I have read.

Grip Safety: Ed Brown Memory Groove Beaver Tail, Blued (087-867100WB)

M.S.H.: Smith & Alexander Flat Checkered, Blued (849-005-010WB)

M.S.H. Rebuild Kit: Brownells 1911 Rebuild Kit, Blued (080-000-549WB)

Thumb Safety: EGW Heavy Duty Thumb Safety, Blued (296-000-129WB)

Nothing really wrong with any of that.

For the beavertail I'd recommend looking into the S&A .250 radius beavertail.   It tends to match the Colt tang profile better without excessive blending required.

I'm not sure why you're doing a MSH rebuild kit, unless you just want to keep the old and new MSH parts together as two swappable assemblies.

Recoil spring: you're going to want a solid Gov't style spring plug.

FPS:  Be sure to order the Series 80 version, otherwise you're going to be doing some filing.

 - Thanks for the advice. So you;d reccoment something like THIS, Part number 849-007-082WB?

 - I just figured since the gun is 25 years old, I would replace the internals, as they are not expensive at all.

- The plug I speced, according to the part number I posted, is the G.I. style, Government Length, so I should be good on that

 - Again, according to the part number I speced, the stop is for the series 80 guns

Thank you for you input, I really appreciate the second set of eyes on the list.

The recoil spring I am looking at is the Wolf "Type C" spring, part number 969-419-220WB seen HERE

I don't see a plug listed on your parts list, just the guide rod.  I assume the DE has an open-ended plug today?

The spring should be OK.   I'd order a 24# and a 20# too, so you can fine tune the recoil for your loads.

My mistake, I read your reply wrong. The gun currently has a Government style recoil spring plug, that I was going to try to re-use so that it looks factory up front. When I do the top-end (next phase) which will be sights and possibly serrating the top of the slide, I was thinking about having a new bushing & plug fit to the gun. In the mean-time, use the factory plug & bushing.
