Ok guys I am new to the 1911. I went out and right off took a plung for a new sig scorpion 5 inch. Now my question is what if anything do these fine firearms need to make them even better? Do I need to polish anything? Do any parts such as the trigger need to be replaced or worked on in any way?

I have the carry model. (4"). I love it! Apparently some people have had some issues with the magazines. Personally the factory 8 Rounders have worked fine for me. As far as changing anything.......no. Just stock up on some Wilson combat 47D magazines and shoot the heck out of it!

I have the 5 inch as well, awesome gun.  Just buy lots of ammo and shoot the crap out of it.

I have the Carry model.  Put a few hundred through it before making any calls on "tweaks".  The only thing I have done to a new gun was put an STI trigger in my 5" Nightmare, because the original was WAY too wiggly.

I have the Carry model and the only thing I've done to it was install a Wilson BP slide stop. The factory one had failed to lock the slide back on occasion after the gun got hot. But other then that it's  a shooter!
